Burgundy, situated in the middle of France, is a landscape of valleys, vineyards, canals, rivers, medieval towns perched on granite rock, bustling markets and an abundance of history.
Get ready for an experience of a lifetime for 10 guests and 7 nights. This fabulous 400 year old farmhouse was once part of the local Chateau dating back to the 12th Century, just a few steps away. The home sits quietly in the heart of Burgundy, surrounded a magnificent countryside, local towns which are oozing with charm and rich in history and tradition.
The farmhouse nestles in a charming traditional French village, it has a boulangerie, village school, and running along the Burgundy canal a little bistro, ideal for a cool beer and a glass of chilled rosé in a little garden just by the lock which is perfect after a gentle stroll.
Rail links with the TGV high speed trains from the Paris airports and central Paris to the local station in Montbard 20 minutes away with access to rental cars is a great option for those taking the Eurostar or flying in from abroad.
Just around the bend is Marigny-le-Cahouët, a postcard-perfect French village with a cozy bar, bakery, provisions shop, and charming post office where life moves at a gentler pace. Only 10 minutes away lies the breathtaking medieval town of Semur-en-Auxois, widely considered one of the most picturesque towns in France, with its towers, ramparts, and cobbled streets overlooking the river. Nearby, the enchanting hilltop village of Flavigny-sur-Ozerain (famous as the filming location for Chocolat) offers sweeping views and timeless beauty within its historic walls.

Accommodation
Arriving at the farmhouse you are immediately struck by the towering oak doors, designed by your hostess and made by local artisans. This spectacular home comes with 5 spacious bedrooms, which all have bathrooms en suite and beds that are super king’s that can be split into generous twin beds. The home is complete with Wi-Fi, TV, washer and dryer, up-to date kitchen and duo wine cellar.
Outside, there are two courtyards, one with a private dining area, water feature, BBQ and flower beds, while the other has a large heated pool with regulation security cover and sun loungers.

Chef Katherine has exclusive access into many of the surrounding vineyards and visits can be arranged for private tours and tastings at the rental property and in the Domaine’s of some of Burgundy’s finest producers
Terms & conditions
The stay must be within an 12-month window from the auction date and the booking for the stay must be made within one month of the auction date. After one month from the auction date, the offer is void and no longer valid. We cannot accept bookings after that time and we cannot grant extensions to the 12-month window. There are no refunds or rescheduling for cancelations of unused bookings. Booking is handled on a first-come, first-served basis and is subject to availability at the time of booking.
